"Blooming" plants for an Asian-inspired garden? (Zone 8)?
I need some ideas for my garden plants Asian-inspired. I found tons of ground covers and grasses and things that do not produce flowers. Now I'm trying to find some plants with color is expected to attract butterflies, but it is necessary to fit the theme of Asia, and they need to thrive in Zone 8. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Forgot mention, I'm wanting flowering plants.

What are some good ways that I can transform my living room into a butterfly garden "for my daughter's birthday?
I will do tissue paper ball decorations to hang from the ceiling, with small white butterflies – but we live in a small apartment, so our living room is like our living room / dining room / office space, and really want it to be magical. What do you think about setting up an area to take pictures – paper, such as building use and things to do as a 'garden' background? I do not know what else to do. Thanks for your help in advance!
What fun! You can use the lights shine … make large tissue paper flowers. You can use green crepe paper to make the backdrop … do some crepe paper flowers and add to that … you'll get 3-D. Martha Stewart's website has instructions to make these. You can also make it look like a forest. A paper tree on the wall and ceiling … have leaves that hang from the branches "in the ceiling … and the lights twinkle. Book mushrooms and grass in the bottom of the wall. All easy to make with construction paper … or a roll of craft paper and some craft paint. You can easily make flower pens … have feathers of friction, Green florist tape and fake flowers … either craft store or Wal-Mart has everything. Then use the tape to wrap around the pen and stalk flower. You can put this into a glass, tin, etc. .. put some grains, beans, etc to keep them in place. This becomes a centerpiece, but also may be a party favor. Another place to get some ideas (you can buy or just get ideas) is etsy.com. I bet you have some cakes http://www.kraftfoods.com large garden as well. I made one for my daughter using a doll and a fairy cake made in a crockery bowl. After the cake is cool, wrap the wrist wrap saran, enter your legs in the cake to make her dress. Then, just decorate with icing and candy. Need gardening advice?
I decided to make a container garden in the courtyard of this year, has some flowering plants of different types,,, planted … The plants are healthy, the leaves are strong, green and growing, the problem is that the flowers, the flowers will appear, and just before are opened, they wither and die,,,, I have tried different fertilizers, moved in and out of the shade and sun, but not flourish. Any idea about what I'm doing wrong?
You're too much water causing them to drop flower .. or too much fertilizer .. when a plant begins to flourish again as a fertilizer High nitrogen .. that need fertilizer phosphorus and potassium enriched .. works of nitrogen in the green of a plant and fruit phosphorus and potassium in the work roots and flowers .. all purpose miracle grow is very high in nitrogen … go find a miracle grow bloom booster falling off nitrogen and phosphorus is more and potassium … Heres a couple links .. This is one of miracle goal to grow the first number is nitrogen ana, the second number is phosphorus and potassium notice .. the "24" is very high in nitrogen .. You do not need a fertilizer like this when a flower or plant is in bloom ..

Box dimensions Robin's nest?
I have a wooden nest box that I have done according to instructions obtained from a book by RSPB. I firmly secured to a post in our small garden, at a height of about 7 ". has been in place for over a year and although we have seen robins in our garden none of them has chosen to build a nest in the box. The entrance is almost square, 4.25 "wide and just under 4" deep. It is the latter that worries me. 4 "seems too? I know that robins nest in various places peculiar and I've seen, have very narrow entrances. For example, a small Royal Mail post office box with an opening of probably only about 2 ". Certainly 4" allows easier access for predators and lets in more wind and rain? I'm thinking of reducing the opening, but would welcome advice from anyone with knowledge and / or experience of the Robin's nest boxes. Thank you very much!
