The division of perennial grasses?

I had a group of Nice and Blue Oat going to dig it up and move to a new garden bed, when excavated with a garden fork, which was extremely dry and fell apart kazillion. For the most part, has a bit of root on each piece. My question is, will time to root itself again before winter? My concern is the small amount of the entire plant root that lived in … not much. My Location is in the Pacific Northwest.

While the grass roots (even very small amounts) just put anywhere and keep the grass watered. In fact, the best time to divide perennial herbs or is in spring or autumn. Pacific Northwest – probably in the autumn. Keep in the shade for a few days to reduce shock. My husband and Deschampsia pennesetum transplanted roots hardly at all – and the garden is now filled.
